Located in the former Royal Messengers’ lodgings, this museum has a fine collection of photographs and related items, including some of the earliest cameras belonging to Nicéphore Niepce and his associate Daguerre, some of the first colour photographs, holographic images dating from 1868, plus early Kodak and Globuloscope panoramic cameras. Visitors can trace the immense progress made in this field over the 20C and learn about the cultural significance of the “photo”.
