Apart from the tombs and altar pieces kept in the Guard Room of the Fine Arts museum, the only remaining pieces of the charterhouse, destroyed in 1793, are two works by the sculptor, Claus Sluter, « the Dukes' sculptor», from Haarlem: the chapel doorway and the famous Well of Moses, with its prophets, an outstandingly realistic work. The site is closed for renovation work to enhance the vestiges and create a medieval garden.
