This courtyard is hemmed in by the pre-Revolution buildings of the Palace of the Dukes and Estates of Burgundy; in one corner is the Chapelle des Élus, with its Louis XV door and interior decoration. Under the porch giving access onto rue de la Liberté is a fine staircase (by Jacques Gabriel, architect of the Petit Trianon at Versailles) leading to the Salle des États stateroom (not open).
