Founded in 1836 in the former barracks of the Arquebusiers, the museum shows the evolution of the animal world: a fine example is the glyptodont, or giant armadillo from the Argentinian pampas. Exhibits of regional geology and stuffed animals in excellent reconstitutions of their natural habitat, a slide show, tactile screens, panels and sound effects make this a lively visit. For those who are fond of insects, there is a sensational collection on the 2nd floor.
