This wing of the town hall is home to Lons-le-Saulnier’s unpretentious fine arts museum. The painting section contains around 30 canvases, including The Death of the Stag by Courbet, landscapes by Pointelin and several works by minor Dutch masters. Sculptures by Falconet and, in particular, Jean-Joseph Perraud, an academic from the Jura, are also worthy of note. From 2012, the museum will house the collections of the old Musée d’Archéologie du Jura.
