Built over the River Saône at a time when the Bresse region was a foreign land, it was not surprising that it was fortified. The bridge was restored and widened in the 18C and the fortifications were removed. From the bridge, there is an attractive view of the quayside dominated by the towers of the Vieux St Vincent.
