Rebuilt for the third time in 1955, this concrete chapel owes its pure, simple lines to Le Corbusier. The architect broke with his usual inflexible designs to create a more sculptural feel. Inside, one is immediately struck by the ethereal quality of the structure and the interplay of light and shadow in the half darkness. Despite its relatively small size, the chapel seems spacious and yet designed for prayer. The floor of the chapel follows the slope of the hill.
