The church of Ornans was rebuilt in the 16C but part of the bell tower (12C) remains from its Romanesque past. The dome and lantern date from the 17C. The church possesses an elegant vault and handsome furniture, including a superb bust of Christ, thought to be the work of Italian sculptor Bernini (1598-1680). The chevet houses the tomb of Abbot Bonnet, officiating priest of the burial painted by Gustave Courbet in 1850.
