Excavations at the Fontaines Salées site uncovered a Celtic sanctuary and Gallo-Roman baths, thought to have been built here due to the presence of mineral springs. During your visit you will see a circular temple dating from 1C BC and a pool dedicated to the spring divinities with a huge surrounding wall. The 19 oak basins designed to hold the mineral water are remarkably well preserved. A stone tank, dating from Roman times, leads to a mineral spring, which is still used locally to treat skin conditions.
