In a former Clarian convent (18C) at the top of Château-Chinon’s old town, the museum houses the official gifts received by François Mitterand during his two periods as president. The variety of the collection is astonishing. Antiquities rub shoulders with designer objects, or creations by provincial artisans. Note the richly decorative items from the Gulf states, sumptuous furniture and delicate Asian objects.
