Situated on the border of the Morvan region, the small village of Pierre-Perthuis occupies a very picturesque position. The gates of a ruined 12C feudal castle give access to the village and to the church. The latter offers a fine view of the Cure Valley and of two bridges. The first, which is modern, rises 33m above the tumultuous river. The second, which is 100 years older (1770), is almost located at its feet. Leave the village and follow the river downstream to see, on the right bank, an arch known as La Roche Percée, to which Pierre-Perthuis owes it name.
