Calacuccia : Michelin's recommendations

On the sunny slopes of the Niolo at an altitude of 830m, Calacuccia is an excellent base for hiking and skiing at the Col de Vergio. The eastern approach to Calacuccia, where the valley opens into the Scala di Santa Regina gorge, offers superb views of the village overlooked by the surrounding mountains. Continue to the villages of Calasima, on the slopes of Mont Albano, and Casamaccioli, with lovely views of Monte Cinto. Calacuccia dam, with its small recreation area, can be seen 200m below.
