Maurice was a brave 4C Christian legionary who refused to slay his co-religionists, costing him his life. Canonised thereafter, his crescent symbol appears on the façade of this 14C residence, which was the home of the senior officer of the Knights of the Crescent, an order of chivalry created by King René.
