Blois Travel guide
Blois
: Michelin's recommendations
Stretching out along the River Loire, Blois has preserved many of its steep and tortuous alleys from the Middle Ages, linked here and there by flights of stairs. There is a three-colour harmony characteristic of Blois (white facades, blue tiled roofs and red brick chimneys), and the town also boasts a proud royal history. Seven kings and nine queens have resided in its castle, bristling with extraordinary yet true tales from the annals of French history (the escape of Marie de Médicis, the assassination of the Duke of Guise…).
