This half-timbered storehouse has been restored and, in its new role as the International Centre for Stained-Glass Windows, hosts exhibitions on the subject. Chartres is undoubtedly the capital of stained glass (which is why the late master of the artform, Gabriel Loire, lived and worked in the nearby village of Léves). The restoration has exposed beams in the main room and revitalised the magnificent 12C cellar.
