Deconsecrated now, this Romanesque Church was the centre of one of the liveliest quarters of Chartres, that of the « river workers »: millers, dyers, cobblers, fullers, tanners and tawers. In the 16 C it was enlarged with the chancel stall and an apse Chapel sitting over arches spanning the river Eure. The chancel stall and these vaults sadly disappeared in 1827.
