Set in 70ha of parkland, this 18C château was built for Marcel Avril, director of the Angers Riding School. During the Second World War, it housed the Polish government-in-exile, Admiral Doenitz’s headquarters and, after the Liberation, American troops under General Patton. Now a Communications Museum, it deals with radio and television on the first floor, and has reconstructions of the interior of Jules Verne’s Nautilus and Armstrong landing on the Moon on the second floor.
