Birthplace and statue of General Gaffori (1704-1753), member in 1745 of the triumvirate of «protectors of the nation» elected by the Corsicans and a general of the nation in 1751. On the facade you can see the impact of Genoese bullets. The statue contains two sculptures relating the taking hostage of Gaffori's son in 1746 by the Genoese, exposing him to the bullets of the Patriots. Faustina, the child's patriotic mother, ordered the Corsicans to carry on firing nevertheless.
