First built in the 16C, the refurbished Château de Carennac now houses an educational exhibition on the Lot department section of the Dordogne river. The building, whose austere façade overlooks the Dordogne river and the Île Barrade (also known as the Île de Calypso), is linked to St-Pierre church by a gallery built above the latter’s Gothic chapels.
