Castelnau-Montratier : Michelin's recommendations
Set on a promontory, old Castelnau-de-Vaux took its name from its founder and was destroyed in 1214. The wool and cloth markets made this walled town a lively place. Three windmills situated to the north of the town are typical of the architecture of the «White» Quercy region. The Place du Mercadial, a square with lime and chestnut trees, is a pleasant spot in the heart of the village. Finally, at the end of the promontory, St Martin's church is reminiscent of the Sacré-Cœur.
