Not so much a château, more a remarkable fortified structure, sited in an exceptional location; the middle of nowhere perhaps (rather secretive) and this only adds to its charm. On first acquaintance, the site is surprising on account of its troglodytic base, surmounted by a Romanesque structure. The 34m-high keep has fine views over the valley and the Château de Laussel.
