Monpazier
: Michelin's recommendations
The delightful medieval town of Monpazier, overlooking the Dropt valley, is unquestionably the best-preserved walled town in the Périgord region, as well as one of the smallest communes in France, covering just 53ha. A typical “bastide” with its grid street plan, this charming town is best explored in the warm light of the late afternoon. Make sure you stroll through the place des Cornières, with its 17C medieval houses and old market hall with a chestnut wood frame.
