Prehistoric sites and châteaux line the Vézère river south of Montignac. Visitors have the choice of places like Le Thot, Espace Cro-Magnon prehistoric theme park, which focuses on the daily life of our ancestors, and La Roque-St-Christophe, Europe‘s largest troglodyte site. If you prefer more recent history, make a point of visiting the 16C Château de Losse, which towers above the river, and the Château de Chabans. There are numerous stopping places along the way.
