Along the island, some lovely houses stand on Boulevard Georges-Saumade - Maison Lambert, or the «house with columns» (nobody knows why!) is a lovely Renaissance house. Maison Cayla, or «house of the Consuls» was built in the 15C on the ramparts. The Maison de Lur dates back to the 16C. Beyond Avenue Daumesnil, there is a wood-sided building that is the remains of the chapter attic .
