This museum was designed by architect Jean Nouvel on the site of an elaborate Gallo-Roman house (4,000m²). A model presents the layout of the city of Vesunna in the 2C with the house located near the church and double forum. The original house (1C) was filled in to a depth of about 1m and largely extended in the mid-2C. The raised floor level preserved elaborate wall paintings at the base of the original walls. Objects from everyday life are also on display.
