Uzerche : Michelin's recommendations

A jumble of old stone houses, towers, pepperpot roofs and bells galore, Uzerche is variously known as “the pearl of the Limousin”, and (on account of never having fallen to besiegers), “the undefiled” or more prosaically “Uzerche the flea” (impossible to capture!). In the upper town is place des Vignerons (fine houses), the Romanesque Church of St Pierre (interesting capitals decorated with animals, foliage and interlacing), plus the esplanade de la Lunade, overlooking the River Vézère.
