Protected by two cylindrical towers topped by steeply sloping slate roofs, the château presents two faces: on one side an austerely defensive one, on the other, a courtyard looks onto a charming Renaissance façade. It was built by Jeanne de Balsac d’Entraygues, widow of Amaury de Montal, governor of Haute- Auvergne; she engaged all the region’s leading artists of the age. The place was revitalised in 1908 when this veritable jewel of a château was acquired by M Fenaille.
