The two towers, one large and round, the other small and hexagonal, mullioned windows and chimney stacks are all reminiscent of a Loire château. Puyguilhem is proof that the cultural currents of the early 16C emanating from distant Italy certainly passed through the Périgord. Inside, finely carved chimney pieces embellish the rooms. Note also the carved main staircase, the Great Hall’s chestnut beams and the parapet walk offering fine views of the roof structure.
