Built in the 15C and 16C (extensively remodelled in the 19C), the castle is formed of various lodgings linked by round towers and enclosed by curtain walls. Inside the decor and furnishings are very fine. The Chamber of Honour is hung with 18C Aubusson tapestries, while the Cabinet de Meditation, the jewel of the place, is a feast of wood panelling decorated with tempera paintings (17C). In the Great Hall, note the six Flemish tapestries depicting the Trojan War.
