This castle looks over the small valley and is surprising due to its atypical nature. It was built over the site of a 9C fortress. It took on its final shape between 16C and 17C. It was during this period that the castle developed its characteristic style, typical of the Loire castles. Its gardens, fashioned in this same style are of unbelievable beauty. The masterpiece of this castle is the chestnut frame of the Southwest tower; fruit of the Compagnons du Tour de France's ingenuity.
