Covering an area of 22ha, Marqueyssac gardens are laid out on a rocky spur overlooking the Dordogne valley. In front of the charming 18C château, the main terrace is arranged in a geometric pattern which evokes the symmetry of the building. The bastion terrace is planted with beautiful box topiary, with cypress trees providing structure to the landscape, while box is left to grow more freely in the holm oak woods. Panels provide information on the flora, fauna and history of the site.
