Betty and Bertie Imbs bought this house in 1956 and, following the advice of an architect friend who loved Italy, created these beautiful gardens around the attractive 18C building. Cypress trees create a vertical structure and topiary is used to frame the mixed borders designed by Madame Imbs, a fan of English gardens. Their son has now taken over the site, which has been maintained by the same gardener since its creation.
