This life-size reconstruction of a farm/village is named after the site’s former activity, beekeeping (bournat means “beehive” in Périgord patois). It recreates the everyday atmosphere of a late 19C village with a school, chapel, village hall, lavoir (communal wash-house), wine storehouse etc. Costumed mannequins in each building evoke the daily occupations of the past. Real-life craftsmen revive traditional trades in the workshops. Traditional funfairs visit in the holiday season.
