Fozzano : Michelin's recommendations

With its tall and handsome granite houses lined up like soldiers going into battle, Fozzano proudly occupies a spur of La Rocca. The renown of the village was assured with the success of Prosper Mérimée's novella Colomba, in which the author uses the vendetta that pitted the Carabellis against the Durazzos as a backrop for a romantic vision of 19C Corsica. The brochure "Petite promenade dans Fazzano" (available from the tourist office) describes a signposted route in the village, an opportunity to relive the events that have marked Fozzano's history.
