Alpe-d'Huez Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

Standing at an altitude of 1,860 m, this is the largest ski resort in the Dauphiné, offering numerous challenges for even the most experienced skiers. The first ski tow was opened here in 1936. Thanks to its 21 hairpin bends, the climb up to the resort is one of the most demanding and legendary stages of the Tour du France cycle race. The steep road to nearby Villard-Reculas offers lovely views of the Bourg-d'Oisans basin.
