The efforts undertaken to preserve this village (where cars are prohibited, telephone lines, electric cables, etc must go underground) have resulted in a tiny paradise. It is pleasant to stroll along its lanes amongst old dwellings. Also, notice the Grande Maison butchers and bakery located in an old cottage in the village centre. Cheese lovers will enjoy the Beaufort, Emmenthal and Tonne cheeses available at the cheese-shop, located just outside the village.

Pros
Depuis Bonneval, on peut remonter en voiture (ou a pied pour les courageux) la vallée de l'Arc jusqu'au hameau de L'Ecot. Aprés, c'est pied à terre pour tout le monde. Nombreux départ de balades dans la vallée. Randonnée facile jusqu'à la source infèrieure de l'Arc. La montée jusqu'à la source supèrieure au glacier est à réserver à ceux qui ont un bon rythme et la condition physique associée.
