Dominated by the chateau, it is surrounded by the attractive Montfalcon Hotel, a true palace in the Italian style, and the Favre de Marnix hotel (17 C). In the middle is a sculpture of the brothers Joseph and Xavier de Maistre. The first was a philosopher of authoritative methods in politics as well as religion; the second, a writer, is the author of Voyage around my room; both were born in the region.
