Tucked away behind the regular crenulations of its ramparts, this old town has a mysterious charm. It is accessed via the Savoie gate or the France gate, embellished by a sundial. Its houses jut above the walls, allowing the sun to shine on its open lofts, drying sheets and straw for its animals.
