The current Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, which is also home to the municipal casino, was built in 1983 by Sir Hubert Bennet, Pierre Braslawsky and Francois Druet. Every year, crowds of enthusiastic fans amass at the foot of the steps in front of the building awaiting the arrival of their favourite stars, hoping for a smile before they climb the staircase dazzled by the flashes of the photographers’ cameras.
