This square building, with 11m sides and topped with a dome that was reconstructed in the 19C is one of the oldest baptistries in France (5C). Inside, digs have restored the original marble floor. The bishop would have washed the feet of those being baptised in the terracotta pool (dolium) before they were immersed in the octagonal pool in the centre of the baptistry.
