At n° 53 rue Sieyès two atlases flank a doorway: they are the remains of the former residence of Abbé Emmanuel-Joseph Sieyès (1748-1836), who wrote the Tennis Court Oath and was a member of the Convention, of which he became president (1795) then Directoire member (1799) and ringleader of the coup d'état du 18 Brumaire.
