La Turbie
: Michelin's recommendations
La Turbie is primarily known as the site of one of only two surviving Roman trophies, the Trophy of the Alps. The town’s position 480m up on the Grande Corniche also makes it the perfect viewpoint from which to survey the coastline below, particularly in the evening when the lights of Monaco can be seen twinkling in the distance. This little medieval village is on the route of the Roman Via Julia Augusta (rue Comte-de-Cesolle follows its original path), now superceded by the Grande Corniche.
