1 500m up, at the heart of the Mercantour National Park, this establishment puts the emphasis on education. Named after the dominant pair in the pack, the park’s aim is to reconcile mankind with ecology and the wolf. Half the 12ha park is set aside for three packs of wolves, living semi-wild in huge enclosures (36 wolves in 2009); a wonderful opportunity to observe these beautiful animals, and the chance to participate in their feeding.
