Jean Cocteau (1889-1963) decorated this chapel in 1957. The painted decoration on the inside of the door is a startling representation of the Apocalypse. Elsewhere, the wall paintings demonstrate a primitivity of design, and depict figurative and popular images, such as scenes from the life of St Peter, patron saint of fishermen, but also deal with non-religious themes, as in the l’Hommage aux demoiselles de Villefranche ou Les Gitans. An overarching geometric design links the various scenes.
