This ancient sanctuary, a contemporary of the crypt of Jouarre, is richly decorated in a mixture of Romanesque, Merovingian and Carlongian styles which in no way detracts from its overall cohesion. St Oyand's crypt is part of a Christian funeral ensemble dating from the 6 and 7C, built into what was originally a pagan necropolis.
