Standing on a rocky hillock, the medieval château of the Adhémar de Monteil family was remodelled several times (in the 16 and 17C) before gaining its current appearance in the early 20C. You will note the Renaissance façade and the Cour du Puit (Well Court), which opens onto a terrace enclosed by a Gothic gallery and Renaissance wings. Inside, you can visit the appartment of the Marquise de Sévigné (letter writer, 1626-96) and the audience chamber adorned with remarkable Louis XIII furniture (including an Italian writing desk) and Aubusson tapestries.
