The Roc de Chère, overlooking Annecy Lake, is a real limestone hill set between Menthon-St-Bernard and Talloires. On this headland, Mediterranean and Boreal flora cohabit within a 68-ha natural reserve. Close to here, within property walls, a funerary chapel houses the remains of the member of the French Academy Hyppolite Taine (1828-1893), who lived the end of his life in Menthon.
