Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye
: Michelin's recommendations
This imposing and beautiful abbey is an unexpected sight, situated in the middle of nowhere between the Chambaran forest and a tiny village. The abbey still houses the precious relics of St Anthony of Egypt who lived in the 3C and is considered to be the first monk and hermit of Christianity. The abbey was the mother-house of the now-defunct Antonine religious order, once renowned for its treatment of the sick. Don’t miss the frescoes and treasure in the abbey church.

This pretty 14C house is in the heart of this medieval village. The wife of the owner has created a welcoming Louis XIII inspired interior. Locally sourced ingredients lead the way on the menu.
