Thonon-les-Bains : Michelin's recommendations
Thonon is the historic capital of Chablais. It has grown on a terrace overlooking Lake Leman, facing Switzerland. It is a health resort and a thermal spa during the summer (its waters are excellent for kidney trouble). Thonon has a pleasant port, which could be a starting point for a series of excursions towards nearby riverside towns of the neighbouring country, and a little known beach! Add to this, the wines of Chablais, and fish from the lake. It is good to stay in Thonon!
