The Tignes retaining dam for the Chevril Lake (230 million cu.m. of water), inaugurated in 1953, is decorated by an immense fresco. Designed by J.-M. Pierret, it represents a giant, the town's emblem. The water passes through the turbines of Brévières power station and is then channelled to those at Malgovert.
